Bonsai Residence

Concept: The concept for the design of the one-story residence located in Tallahassee, Florida will be a Bonsai tree. The artful curvilinear lines will inform the materials and finishes such as exotic marble and wood. The organic form will influence selection of furnishings and fixtures, and the asymmetrical simplicity will inform the space planning and overall style of the design. Natural colors such as greens, browns, tans, and grays will be used to reflect the colors of the bonsai. Client Profile: The goal is to design this high-end residence for a single bachelor who seeks a tranquil retreat from his busy life in Seattle. He enjoys spending his freetime relaxing and meditating outside or as close to nature as possible. The client desires a large space with room to spread out and relax on weekends.
